As a mom to twins who were gifted to me at the age of 42 turning 43, I feel we have unique challenges not shared by our younger moms. I feel I have more patience for most things, yet, my expectations are higher of what my guys could be doing.

Interesting Carla. Sometimes I feel like I have less patience because I was used to doing my own thing until age 42 when I became a mom, the same as you.

I agree I can have less patience for them not “fitting in” to my schedule. But overall, I don’t stress about day to day stuff with my guys.

I find that my patience is fine but I am tired all the time.

Kudos to you that you are tired all the time but you still have your patience. I am 44 years old and have a 7 year old. I’m tired all the time too and find my patience is low and have to catch myself from losing patience. I found that exercising helps with the energy level. If you can make the time for exercise it should help.

I am a mom of 5 year old twin boys + a 3.5 year old daughter. Not quite triplets but it feels like it sometimes. Any thoughts on how to let each of my children know how special and unique they are? I find it challenging because I’ve never really had one-on-one time with any of them.

I also have 3 kids (7 yrd old daughter and 3.5 year old twins)…Take your times when you can get them…It can be as simple as taking one child with you to run errands (to the market to shopping) or walking the dog and talk time with Mommy. Sometimes with my older daughter, we schedule in a special detour on the way to an after-school class s…[Read more]
