In our StrengthsCast series on itunes, Business Coach and talk show host Justin Lukasavige talks about his inclination as a child to take things apart. Do you have a child like that in your household ? I have heard families tell stories of children who have taken apart hair dryers, radios, model trains and more and each time when asked their child’s response boiled down to something like ‘ I wanted to see how it worked’. That inquisitive nature is something some children are born with. They have a natural inclination to learn about things. It is how they are gifted.
As adults sometimes we look at this trait in a child as destructive when they dismantle an object, but sometimes that exercise helps them to flex their learning muscle in a great way.
Some of us are more tactile learners we need to touch and feel things to gain the best understanding . In many ways these children are the best learners because they usually are not only compelled to take things apart to see how they work but to also put them back together too.
At times the outcome of such attention to detail is an engineer or airline pilot in the making. But sometimes that child grows up to become a very successful business coach that helps people to ‘unpack’ what their strengths are and fine tune or ‘re-assemble’ a business so it works even better!
Hear more from a Coach doing just that today in this weeks my Wired Style Podcast.
