– New York Metro Edition —

In this, a periodic New York Metro Edition in which we tailor our content for those of you who raised your hands as tri-state oriented… we turn our attention to one of the states OTHER than NY that comprise that tri-state trio.

This one, then, is for the Jersey girls (and especially those who dwell in the Garden state but maintain a highly urbane disposition)…

Suburbuzz.com is a site and email newsletter created to provide the most citified of suburbanites with information on the hottest restaurants, happening events, shopping, edibles, kids stuff and other services that are near your own backyard.  Its founders conduct firsthand research via car and foot across a range of NJ towns (with a primary focus on those in Morris, Essex and Union counties), looking for noteworthy places of interest, and aided by reader recommendations.  These are places they ultimately deem "suburbuzz-worthy."   Look for favorite restaurants, some lesser-known retail options, and a touch of complementary editorial content (we liked the feature on How to Stretch Your Wardrobe Budget).  What it lacks in depth is offset by feeling like you are going through the notes or rolodex of a cool and trusted friend.

Click Clack Mooo-ves to the Theatre

We are ardent admirers of TheatreworksUSA, America’s largest not-for-profit theatre for young and family audiences.  Since 1961, they have brought the magic of live theatre to over 78 million people in almost every state; however we are especially fond of their annual gift of free summer theatre for families in the New York area.  This summer, they have created a new musical production out of a modern classic of children’s lit: Doreen Cronin’s whimsical "Click Clack Moo."  The show opened this week and runs through August 28th — and thanks to the support of corporations, foundations and individuals… all 20,000 of the tickets across these performances are FREE.  The show runs an hour, is geared for ages 4 and up, and tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis at the Lucille Lortel Theater in New York City.

Nursery Education… for Parents

After writing about the documentary "Nursery University" earlier this year, it seemed only right to promote the chance for any parent actually on the precipice of a New York nursery school admissions process to have a chance to connect directly with some of the experts and decision makers actually featured in the film.  Sponsored by our friends at New York Family, you can get an Executive Moms discount off the pre-registration price if you use the code word: "Family."
