One of our (MANY) New Year's resolutions this year is to pull back the curtain and turn the spotlight on some of YOU, because we happen to think what makes Executive Moms so special are, well, the executive moms who comprise it.  So periodically we will feature a member plucked from our new social network.  Even more of a reason to be there yourself…

Member Spotlight: Nichole Goodyear

What's Your One Line Career Description?

I'm President/CEO and Co-Founder of Brickfish.com, a social media advertising platform that connects consumers and brands.  (Editorial note: we think it's pretty fabulous to find a woman, and mom, like Nichole who is a true technology junkie and can clearly keep pace with the Silicon Alley boys).

What's Your More-than-One-Line Career Recap?

I'm a serial entrepreneur. I've been part of or created seven start-up companies over the last 20+ years.

Fast Family Facts:

We have two children; Alyssa, who is in 2nd grade, and Jake who is in Pre-K. We live in beautiful San Diego, CA where we are lucky to have amazing neighbors and friends. My husband Todd and I spend most of the weekend on the soccer fields around San Diego.

From Another Member, This Great Tip …

One of our members tipped us off to this– and we love the concept on a couple of levels.  Kids for a Cause is a joint initiative formed by NYU and Columbia students, offering a once-a-month break for parents in the form of fun field trips they organize and chaperone for kids.  This month, on January 31st, there are three different outings planned: one to the Children's Museum of Manhattan for ages 3-6, one to the New York Aquarium for ages 4-8, and one to the Museum of Natural History for ages 6-10.  Each runs from 11:30 to 5:00, with lunch included (parents can stay for lunch or enjoy the full time off).

The nicest part?  Parents are invited to name their own price in the form of a donation that goes directly to Baby's First Home, a charitable endeavor with the mission of opening one of New York City's only shelters for homeless teen mothers.  (Thus a true no guilt solution: you get time off, the kids get a field trip, and a worthy charity benefits at the same time)
