That summer vacation already feels like a distant memory– and if you are like us, the vacation photos are sitting in your computer– compiling them into a photo album being on the LONG list of things to do.

Instead, create instant, multimedia gratification…

We have to thank a few of our favorite executive moms for turning us on to this, our favorite new web toy: Animoto.com, which turns regular digital photos into a terrific little music video. The process is surprisingly simple considering the result looks like you spent a few hours in a professional editing suite. Upload a batch of photos, choose a bed of music from one of their tracks, or one of your own, and then sit back while their inexplicable digital magic happens… a few minutes later you just hit play, and smile.

It’s the end of slideshows…

At least that was the motivation of a group of former TV producers and tech guys, who wanted to bring their standard of production pizzazz to the rest of us. They therefore locked themselves away and (in their words) nerded-out… until they came out with this patent- pending cinematic technology that somehow “thinks” like an actual director and editor.

Make a movie, and then share it…

In true social media style, every creation is easily shareable, so you can email your cinematic mini- masterpiece to the grandparents, or post it to Facebook, YouTube or the like. A :30 second video (which can utilize about a dozen photos) is free; longer length versions can be bought for $3 (while $30 gets you an unlimited supply for a year.

We’ll only torture you with ours if you really want to see it…
