We’ve now published a directory of all of the great partners we assembled for our recent One- Stop Summer Planning event, so everyone can have access, just click here!

Meantime, we moms can play nicely in the sandbox with each other, too. Here, a few of our favorite (mostly NY metro-oriented) resources for moms that we think complement Executive Moms quite nicely…

Mommy Poppins

Given that it’s in its own early youth, this website and blog founded by mom-of-two Anna Fader is amazingly robust as a source for “getting more out of living in NYC with kids.” Blog posts range from the fun to the informative; highlights include combating M.G.S.C. Disorder (“Mommy’s Going Stir Crazy”) with 5 Great Indoor Activities for Kids in NY… to the perennially urgent Overview of Preschool Admissions. Even if you are not a NYC dweller, there is enough of a range of content (or tips for trips in) to make this worth a bookmark.

Motherhood Later… Than Sooner

As its name implies, this is a community that was founded for women who started their journey into motherhood a little later than the norm (although from our vantage point, 35+ seems more and more the norm)! Since its founding, chapters are growing steadily around the country. You can sign up for their emails or read posts by 35+ mom bloggers… and feel connected to moms with whom you likely have more than just age in common.

Esssential Mom

A great resource for Westchester, NY-area moms… look to this site for the best local events, class schedules and resources… plus parenting Q&A, founded by super Mom and Westchester area expert Gretchen Menzies. We especially like their suggestions for Things to Do, which venture beyond this one county for interesting activity possibilities that might appeal to many throughout the region.

Citibabes

Citibabes is a private club in Manhattan that was conceived to provide high quality services to both children and their parents, at the same time. As such, your tot can take a class while you actually get a chance to workout (or get a manicure). Located in SoHo, a new location is due to come to the Upper West Side. This summer, you can sample a membership with a special rate that includes one kids’ class. Or, without even making a trip, everyone can enjoy shopping from their online boutique (Executive Moms save 15%– use offer code CB508EXECMOM, through 8/1/08).

Mom Finds

From the creator of SheFinds.com, one of our favorite shopping sites, we appreciate the way this site searches the web for the best shopping finds for both moms and kids… and then aggreagates them via web posts and emails. If you have time for nothing else, go straight to their Deal of the Day; recent ones include an extra 40% off on designer Mother’s Day gifts at Saks.com and 20% off Melissa and Doug toys at ohtoys.com.

Mind Your Own Business Moms

Knowing that being an “executive mom” is sometimes a state of mind vs. a state of employment, we hear often from women who have taken an extended career break and then struggle with how best to re- enter. One new resource looking to address this is MYOBMoms– and their first major seminar to help moms looking to get back on a career track (or start a new one) is next Tuesday, May 13th in New York City. Learn more for yourself or pass it along!
