As girls seem to be confronting issues of self and self- esteem at an increasingly young age, we love the idea of a destination where they can safely explore topics of interest to them (from dieting to music to dating) and “find their own passions.”

With deference to the fact that many girls (of any age) like to shop, its heartening to know that a portion of the products for sale on the site will be created by teen-aged entrepreneurs… and a portion of the profits of every product sold from HeartofGoldGirls.com is donated to charity.

While the content and interactivity are just developing now, we’re looking forward to seeing this take off in time for our own journey through the teenage years (so that we might all come out the better for it).
