The best part of having started Executive Moms? Seeing just how many amazing, sterotype-busting women there actually are out there. (i.e. You). So please allow us to share the endeavor of a fellow amazing woman (executive, and hopefully future- mom), who has turned a major life curveball into an incredible fundraising initiative…

Meet our friend Jen Goodman Linn, Founder of Spin4Survival

In late 2004, Jennifer Goodman Linn was a successful marketing executive, and just 33 years old when she was diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare form of tissue cancer. She set out on a course of treatment that has included mutliple major surgeries and months of chemotherapy… thoughout which she continued to exercise (yes, she’s one of THOSE kind of amazing people, hateful, if she wasn’t so genuinely wonderful). In fact, through cycling, she felt physically and emotionally strong, at a time when she might have been anything but.

Throughout, she remained an executive… AND became a certified spinning instructor

From there came the ultimate new channel for her energies: the creation of Spin4Survival: an indoor cycling event created to raise money for cancer research and important cancer survivorship initiatives. Spin4Survival was held for the first time last January, partnering with the world famous Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center… and not surprisingly given its founder, the event became the most successful patient-initiated fundraiser in Sloan Kettering’s history.

The 2nd Annual Spin4Survival is Sunday, January, 27, 2008

This year, teams will participate again at Equinox Columbus Circle in NYC… and “virtually” via spinning in other locations around the world. The goal is to celebrate courage in the face of adversity… and to raise money, 100% of which goes directly to cancer research. To learn more about this event and how you can participate, visit:
