Once it dries, it forms a clear soft cushion…

And that cushion stays put, until you decide to peel it off (which you can do with no damage to the shoe, regardless of the fabric). For high heels, paint 4-5 horizontal lines in your shoes and it will keep your feet from sliding farther forward than they should.
