Not that we don’t love The Gap, but there is something to be said for not seeing your child’s outfit in triplicate on the playground. For some more unique choices to supplement those new fall wardrobes, we’ve searched NEAR and FAR so you don’t have to do the same. Two of our favorites:

For kids to age 14: our favorite site from France is
DU PAREIL AU MEME

Okay, so it might be the equivalent of The Gap in Paris… but no one here has to know that. We love this retailer’s fabulous fashions, many of which have details and embellishments that make them look far more expensive than they are. In fact, even with the Euro exchange rate being less favorable than it once was, “DPAM” is a relative bargain. This very cool coat is about $41 U.S.; the sweater, about $20. Shipping, while more than that of domestic retailer, won’t set you back too much farther. (Now just don’t tell everyone).

From our own soil, for younger kids: we like the fresh selections in the POLKADOT PATCH

It must be the fresh air in Vermont where this etailer is based, that influenced their assortment; all of their clothing is breezy and bright. We also like their determination to forego the standard all pink/all blue routes in favor of more colorful choices for girls and boys. Merchandise is generally well-priced here too; this ZaZa Couture boys’ outfit below sells for $32; the Mich’l Simon dress is $48.

However, the deal is even brighter for Executive Moms: enter the special code “executivemom” when you check-out and you will receive 15% OFF ANY ORDER.   www.polkadotpatch.com
