HAPPY NEW YEAR! Amidst the predictable swirl that comes in these early days of January about New Year’s resolutions, we always try to resolve to one that just might be attainable. To that end, we’ve been impressed with some of the new organizer offerings geared precisely for women like us. Here are two that have caught our eye:

LIFE.DOC is an organizer designed expressly for working mothers

(And no wonder, as it was conceived by a member of Executive Moms). The idea of Life.Doc is to provide a single ‘index to your life,” both your professional life and personal life (including your spouse, your kids, your babysitter, and even aging parents if needed).

Life.Doc comes as a tabbed binder and/or as a CD-rom for the computer.

Both formats are organized into eight sections that encompass key areas of your life, i.e. Family Basics, Insurance, Legal, Caregiver Information, Health, Dollars & Sense, Emergency Plan and Home Sweet Home. It does take some time to get it started, in terms of entering in all of your information (but if you can find the time to do that, you’ll surely save much time and angst grasping for key information later). Life.Doc retails for $29.99 (and includes both the binder and the CD-rom).

WHOMI is another new multi-tasking organizer, that you can take with you

Unlike most daybooks or agendas, the Whomi was designed to enable busy moms to keep track of multiple family members at once– no more running from your own Filofax to the kitchen calendar (or worse, Post-Its) to keep it all straight.

You can glance at the week with one page view…  And through it’s color-coded sections, keep track of what you, each of your kids (and anyone else for whom you need to plan) has going, from playdates and school activities to your own personal and business commitments.

We also love the way it looks– designed like a cool clutch it comes in funky graphic patterns that are much more fun than your basic black book. The Whomi ranges from $34-$55 (An on-line version is also in the works).
