Does anyone have a mailbox that is not filled almost daily with catalogs, particularly at this time of year? With every retailer now clamoring for your share-of-mind, and share-of-wallet, here is one relevant twist on discerning where to shop…

Femail Creations is a catalog where all the products are by, for and/or about WOMEN.

In fact, the unique mission of this catalog is to support women, particularly those trying to get their dreams off the ground, by featuring the products of women artists and women-owned businesses.

That mission is a personal reflection of the catalog’s founder, Lisa Hammond, who started out as a construction company manager with no retail or catalog experience other than that she shopped them. What started as a one-woman business in 1997 has grown into a national web and catalog business with a multi-million name database.

So what have they got?

The merchandise mix is definitely eclectic (with a feel that leans a bit to the earthy/crafty/homespun side)… but spend a few minutes browsing and there are plenty of charming, witty, fun and practical items spanning home, women’s fashion, kids, jewelry, accessories and more that are particularly well-suited to gifting.

Some items that caught our eye:

A set of Great Women “Rulers” (a throwback gift with a modern message) for $18, a magnetized Take-Out Menu Pouch ($25), a Mulled Wine candle in an antiqued silver holder ($12), flannel toile pajamas (regularly $98, on sale for $48) and a handpainted personalized family plate, shown left ($109).
