It’s season premiere time, which means the water cooler conversations are about to heat up again, especially around one of our favorites from last season, “Desperate Housewives.” Yet why we’ll really be buzzing? This season, Housewife Lynette will be one no longer, as she goes back to work and becomes her family’s primary breadwinner.

Which led us to our newest HOT TOPIC:

If you’re a primary breadwinner in your household, how has that impacted you? Has it had an impact on your relationship with your spouse? How about your relationship with your kids? We want to know what you THINK, so…

TELL US!

We thought this also presented an interesting moment to look at the results (thus far) of our ongoing survey:

So far, the strong majority of you are at least an equal, if not primary, breadwinner in your household:

  – 13% say you are the sole breadwinner
  – 30% say you are the primary breadwinner
  – 29% say you are an equal breadwinner

In addition,

  – 74% of you say you work BOTH for financial and emotional reasons
  – Only 8% of you feel having a career has had a negative effect on your marriage

If there was one need our survey revealed… it was for you to have a little more time to hang out with friends (like those TV Housewives do)…

  – 46% of you wish you had more time for the friends you have
  – And 63% of you wish you had more working mom friends, with lifestyles like yours

Want to cast your vote? Take the survey yourself!

To that last point, you can meet new working moms friends by RSVPing for the Executive Moms Fall Luncheon, this TUESDAY, September 27th.

One progamming note: unfortunately, due to the ongoing major events in the gulf coast, we’ve just learned that Soledad O’Brien will be forced to be in the south all next week leading CNN’s special coverage of hurricane Rita and the aftermath of this storm as well as Katrina. We are fortunate that CNN anchor Heidi Collins will be taking her place. Heidi is the former host of “American Morning;” she now anchors across the network and provides in-depth reports on “Anderson Cooper 360?.” An award winning broadcaster, Heidi led CNN’s coverage of the capture of Saddam Hussein. (And of course, she’s also a mom).

We look forward to Heidi moderating a great discussion on “A View from the Top,” featuring a panel of three of the nation’s most successful businesswomen… who are, of course, also mothers. We hope you’ll join us for another memorable event.

RSVP NOW (deadline is MONDAY morning)!
