Sure, it’s enjoyable for a kid, a teen (or grown-up for that matter) to relate to the adventures of someone else, like, a character named Harry Potter. But imagine the interest in literature when the protoganist is… you.
   
We were compelled by the idea of a full-length action novel — in which you can make your kid the star.

Young children’s books have existed for some time that can be produced with your child’s name inserted … what makes these books unique is that they are full- length chapter novels targeted to tweens (though of interest to kids both a bit younger, and older). Created by Book by You Publishing, you can choose from their 3 fantasy/adventure titles: The Book of Dragons, The Golden Key and The Children of It,. which in fact fit well within the Potter genre. (The Children of It was originally written by Edith Nesbit in the late 1800s and has become a young people’s classic).

 Each book allows you to customize 19 fields, i.e. your child’s name, their best friend’s name, their hair color… which translate to thousands of personal features within each 100-130 page novel. We found that even pre- reading children thrill to having one read to them, especially when they hear their name at the center of the action.
