We asked… and you gave us great input on the toys that get your top scores (and of course, your kids’). We’ll share more detailed findings next week, but prior to our Holiday Rap and Wrap in New York on Wednesday, November 17th… here are some of the other fun findings we gleaned from you:

What types of kids’ gifts do you buy most often?
Literature, entertainment and educational projects score highest:

63% pick books/music/videos
58% arts/crafts/science
40% games
33% clothing
17% dolls/action figures
15% favorite character merchandise
2% electronic toys
19% “other” (such as personalized items, musical instruments and puzzles)

Where do you get most of your toy/gift shopping done?

Major toy stores still rule, at 62%
Independent/specialty stores garner 44%
Many of you also shop on-line– 42%
Mass Merchandisers like Target earn 38%
Only 6% toy shop in catalogs

And what is the one gift you most wish you could get for YOURSELF this year?
The desire for a little spare time (and some real pampering), dominated your thinking:

35% would pick spa/pampering services
18% jewelry/watch
16% clothing
12% a gift card to your favorite store
6% entertainment (like theater tickets)
14% said “other” (which included new things for the house, TiVo, a housekeeper, a romantic vacation… and most of all… time to yourself)!
