Thank you to the many who attended our Pre-Holiday Breakfast Rap and Wrap at FAO. We hope you enjoyed the program (and it would appear you enjoyed the SHOPPING)!

Remember “Planes, Trains and Automobiles?” (and that was just about GETTING where you need to go on the holidays). Once you’re there, when there are kids involved (especially little ones), the real issue is: THE GEAR.

If you’re due to travel within the region i.e. to the in-laws, or have friends or relatives with kids coming IN, one way to make life simpler is to go the equivalent of the take-out dinner route with the kid equipment.

Rent what you need. Have it delivered. Have it taken away when you’re done.

One nifty resource is Travel Babies

While they specialize in NYC and LI (read: file away for next summer’s treks to the Hamptons or Fire Island) they aim to help all around the area, all year long. Rent everything from full-size cribs, toddler beds, single or double strollers, highchairs, refrigerators, car seats, swings, safety equipment. (We tried them last summer when our daughter refused to sleep in a Pack ‘n Play any longer and it made all the difference in our getaway).

Prices are reasonable, i.e. $35-$65/week for a full crib, including bed linens, $25/week for a stroller or swing. Delivery, set-up and pick-up combined start at $20.

And Just Because You’re An Executive Mom, Tell Them So, and SAVE 10% OFF ANY ORDER Between Now and New Year’s

Just think, with all the resulting extra room in the trunk of the car, there will be that much more room for holiday gifts (to be bestowed, received… or self-purchased).
