Caring for the woman who first helped us care for our brand new baby when she was diagnosed with a gobal glioblastoma less than a year later was hard in ways I didn’t expect. My own father is beginning to need more assistance. She’s now in FL. He’s in PA. We’re in NY.

Jennifer, I think your question must presume we live in the same area as children and elders do. What is the service that unites the communities? Maybe a vetting service so we can choose from among trusted handimen, or housekeepers or aides without starting searches from scratch.

This summer, my mother-in-law passed away from a vicious brain tumor. It was so hard to share our home and our lives when she was sick, but as we come through her passing as a family, I find myself extremely grateful we had the time with her and brought any sense of peace or joy to her while she was still with us. I love the idea. So many of us are responsible for both our parents, our little ones and the rest of our familes.
