For our new Executive Moms Member Spotlight, we are pleased to introduce you to healthcare executive, consulting entrepreneur, and newly minted blogger Sarianne Gruber of North Brunswick, New Jersey:

Quick Career Description:

I started my own consulting practice, SG Analytics, specializing in Healthcare Analytics and Marketing. And I just founded a blog on this area: Moved by Metrics on www.directeffects.net/blog.

The More-Than-One-Line Career Description:

At this stage of my career, I have really found my niche working with pharmaceutical firms and healthcare organizations interested in knowing how they can gain new insights into patient care and treatment I believe as our healthcare system transitions to electronic health records, we will have new answers to our research questions – and healthcare analytics will be the key to unlocking the answers.  A truly rewarding experience was managing the design of a real-time online database for tracking outcomes at the John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack, NJ.  I really enjoy helping my clients understand their data and the challenge is very rewarding, particularly when I see the results finally actualized and making a difference in people’s lives.  My prior healthcare marketing and clinical experience includes stints at GfK Healthcare, MarketRx, Health Science Communications, Novartis Pharmaceuticals and The Mount Sinai Medical Center.   I hold a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics from Yale University and a Master of Science in Management from New York University.  My BA is from Goucher College in BioComputing.

Fast Family Facts:

I am thankful for my wonderful, smart, kind and beautiful daughter named Leah.  Her artistic talent and inquisitive mind never rests. I am a single mom and she is my daily inspiration. We have a pet bichon frise named Bubbles whose goal in life is to make everyone happy.  Since I was a little girl playing with Barbie dolls, I always wanted to be a Mom.  Now my daughter has my collectible dolls. In a handmade Mother’s Day card when Leah was seven, she wrote her favorite time with Mommy was playing dolls together. Leah just turned 13 in April.

A Piece of Personal Trivia:

One of my favorite activities is visiting historic points of interests.  I love going to see restored landmark buildings with period furnishings and antiques.  Our historic weekend trips have been to Betsy Ross’ home in Philadelphia, Paul Revere’s house in Boston and Juliette Gordon Lowe’s birthplace in Savannah, Ga.  (Yes, I was a Girl Scout and now a proud Troop Leader).  We visited Jamestown for its 400 anniversary and just love walking back in time in Williamsburg VA.
