Based on what members have told us they like and need most from Executive Moms, for this event, we sought to bring the best ideas, stories and solutions-- from the funny to the fundamental-- from both Executive Moms themselves and our experts, on how you DO it. Here with Executive Moms President Marisa Thalberg (center), those experts were (L to R): Mary Lou Quinlan, CEO and author, “Just Ask a Woman;” Wendy Sachs, author, “How She Really Does It;” Melinda McLaughlin, SVP, A&E Television Networks and emcee Katie Brown, lifestyle guru and host of A&E’s All Year Round With Katie Brown
Guests convened in the Reuters’ building’s panoramic event space in Times Square. Cocktails and a buffet lunch offered immediate chances for socializing and perusing the books written by two of the members of the panel.
The mingling continued into the dining room, as guests took their seats for a SOLD OUT program!
The program began with opening remarks from Marisa Thalberg, who shared some personal thoughts about the event’s theme...
...after which the program was turned over to lifestyle guru and true media personality Katie Brown (left), whose self-effacing humor lent instant warmth to the room. That feeling was heightened by the personal insights shared by the rest of the panel members, including the incredibly relatable “list” offered by Melinda McLaughlin (right)
which drew appreciative laughter across the room...
Meantime, befitting our multi-tasking natures, there was work to be done amidst the bonding. While everyone took a break to enjoy lunch, every table was also given specific themes that each fell under the overall theme of “I KNOW How She Does It.” As guests lunched, they were also encouraged to discuss the themes at their table, and toss their own best ideas into the bags.
When Katie brought the audience back together for one big conversation, those specific themes and ideas became the basis for a free-wheeling conversation on a broad range of topics, from Mealtime, to Creating Downtime, to How to Handle Things When You Travel. In spite of the size of the crowd, it seemed almost everyone had a chance to get into the act...
The event was capped by amazing canvas tote gift bags provided by primary event sponsor A&E Networks (as well as $50 gift certificates for shopping personalshopper.com). Along with the wealth of ideas and stories shared, there were lasting gifts for all to take away.
