- Member Spotlight: Andreea Ayers
- Who Won... and Win More
It's a lovely kind of confluence when we find a
member we want to feature - and her work happens to be something we might have
featured independently. For our latest
Executive Moms Member Spotlight, meet
Andreea Ayers from Princeton, NJ...
Quick
Career Description:
I'm
the owner of TeesForChange.com.
The
More-Than-One-Line Career Description:
I like to think of myself as "Chief Inspiration Officer" for an eco-friendly,
inspirational clothing company. My career now involves designing apparel
that in turn inspires people to live life with passion, purpose and positivity.
Fast
Family Facts:
I have wo boys, ages 1 and 3, and a wonderful husband who is very supportive of
my business and career.
A Piece
of Personal Trivia:
I've always had the entrepreneurial bug. When I was in college
I knitted hats
and sold them to my friends and when I graduated and got my first job, I
installed a candy machine in my employer's kitchen so I can make some extra
cash. Those 25 cents really added up! I started Tees for Change in the
Spring of 2007 when I was pregnant with my first son, after having worked with
many eco and green companies to promote their products. I love yoga,
reading magazines, and running my business!
Executive Mom Pearl of Wisdom:
Flexibility is key,
but it only works if you build a structure and plan our your day/week in
advance. The other pearl of wisdom I've acquired is that you can have it
all as an Executive Mom, but you can't always have it all at once. Sometimes
your kids take priority and sometimes your business does. I used to fight this
and think that I could be 100% in my business and 100% with my kids at all
times, until I got my own office space and realized how much more productive I
am when I give 100% of my attention to one thing at a time. And then when I come
home, I am 100% focused on my kids.

Who Won... and Win More

The winner of the
SuperMom Action Figure
is Margaret Troyer from
Trevor, Wisconsin.
(And we just had to share her comment about why she should
win: "My 3 kids are ages 6,
3 and 1. I work full-time as an HR Executive and commute from Wisconsin to
Illinois everyday. I make my own chocolate, host every holiday at home, act as
Chair of the Membership and Audit Committees of the PTO and still manage to work
on knitting baby booties for a friend's baby shower at night. I want a SuperMom
doll!" [And you deserve one! But so do all of you; thank you fall or the
fabulous comments]!
Now here's another chance at Executive Moms fringe benefits: in concert with our
feature this week of Andreea Ayers and her company TeesforChange.com, you can
WIN one of TWO of her "Live Courageously" bamboo short
sleeve tees (retail value $32
each). For your chance: email us at
emoms@executivemoms.com and tell us
you'd like to win a tee.
