Mottos of a SuperMom

- Mottos of a SuperMom
- Win Your Own SuperMom
- How Super Are You?

We loved that you loved the "SuperMom" Action Figure we featured in our recent "Better than Barbie" Momorandum.  So much so, that it struck us that every superhero worth her weight in magic powers needs at least one emblematic motto or sage saying, by which to live, or at least relate.  "Supermom" being a super mom, there are of course a range of options that could suit her many suits, so chose your favorite(s) of the quotes below.  (Just outsource having them sewn onto your cape).  Continuing reading on for a chance to WIN a "Supermom" Action Figure of your own...

Mottos (and Interesting Quotes) of a SuperMom

"Motherhood is like Albania-- you can't trust the descriptions in the books, you have to go there." - Marni Jackson

"Never apologize to your children for working.... And I learned this working in the news business, which likes to cover children... but doesn't actually LIKE them all that much." - Cynthia McFadden (at the 2009 Executive Moms Luncheon)

“If evolution really works, how come mothers only have two hands?” - Milton Berle

“I know how to do anything - I'm a Mom.” - Roseanne Barr

“You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back.” - William D. Tammeu

“The phrase ‘working mother’ is redundant.” - Jane Sellman

"Like all working mothers, sometimes I feel like a terrible mother and sometimes I feel like a terrible employee.  But for the most part, I try to give myself a break, which is something I urge all mothers to do - to live your life with a cloud of guilt about everything you are doing is just not good for anybody."  - Katie Couric

"When you're able to identify your passions, then your child will be able to identify theirs."  - Amanda Peet

"[My work] gives me something to talk about at dinner. That can't be underrated, really. A lot of the mom struggle in life is that everything happens within the four walls of the home, and it can lose its luster a little bit. You just have to bring it in from outside some of the time." - Julia Roberts

"Working mothers are guinea pigs in a scientific experiment to show that sleep is not necessary to human life."  - Author Unknown

“There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one” - Jill Churchill

How Super Are YOU?

Knowing you as we do ... most likely: quite super!  If you'd like for us to consider featuring you in a future "Member Spotlight" so everyone can know just how true that might be, simply make sure you have a profile on the Executive Moms Network, and then email us to suggest yourself.  We may be slightly biased, but surely there is no more Super Mom than an Executive Mom.

my favorite quote is: Like all working mothers, sometimes I feel like a terrible mother and sometimes I feel like a terrible employee. It's Friday!. Got up at 5 for yoga, got ready for work; kids up; off to camp; in the office before 8 three meetings down, three to go. Off to take on to a birthday party then shop to replace the broken wall art that the other child broke last week by throwing a marble in the living room. Would love to win the supermom doll!

My 3 kids are ages 6, 3 and 1. I work full-time as an HR Executive and commute from Wisconsin to Illinois everyday. I make my own chocolate, host every holiday at home, act as Chair of the Membership and Audit Committees of the PTO and still manage to work on knitting baby booties for a friend's baby shower at night. I want a SuperMom doll!

I love having a supportive network like Executive Moms, and have made it a mission of mine to emotionally support other career moms. It can get tough but knowing we're in it together helps so much! I would love to win a SuperHero Mom to remind me we're all superheroes!
