- Get Networking
- New Blog Post
Does a new decade come with a higher order of
new year's resolutions? We think not.
After all, by January 14th all those avowals to get more
organized, more exercised, more patient and less caloric may
be the one thing wearing thin. However, it struck us
that there was one simple action on the resolution front
that we might offer to start the new year, of the
specifically Executive Moms variety:
Make This the Year of Smart Networking
As many of us hit a "reset"
button during the preceding year, a year that most are happy
to put in the past, let this be the year where you reset
your approach to cultivating your network(s), strategically.
What better place to start than right here. Here then
are a few tips for making the most of the
Executive Moms Network:
-
If you
haven't done so already, set up your own profile.
It's easy (really).
-
Upload
a picture and add details that will help the right
people find you.
-
Search
for fellow members to get to know who have commonalities
with you. For example, go to
"Member Moms" and in the search field, type an
occupation like "lawyer" or "sales;" you'll find other
members who have that job definition in their profile
too. Search by city or state and you'll find
members in your area.
-
Once you
find member moms of interest, start a conversation.
Send them a message or post to their wall.
-
Start a
discussion in the Lounge,
post new content or a status update to your page,
comment on someone else's content. Boom: you're
networking, (with women with whom you probably have a
lot in common).
