Executive MomorandumOn Fertile Ground3/19/2009- On Fertile Ground If you are reading this, it is highly likely you've made it to motherhood. However, that does not mean the road there was easy, or that it continues to be easy if you are trying for a second, or third, time. In fact it is with a full appreciation for the gift of being a mother that we recognize how physically, emotionally and financially challenging it can be when conceiving is difficult -- which is the case for over 7.3 million Americans. As such, we are impressed by a brand new site devoted to the topic.
At the same time, it's clear Fertility Authority recognizes the importance of creating a community around this charged topic; launched less than a month ago, the boards have yet to gain traction, but we would imagine that will soon snowball. Already appealing are the testimonial videos (including a welcome video featuring self-styled fertility posterchild Alexis Stewart) and several good bloggers. Our wish is that you never have a strong need for a resource like this; but until that's the case, we welcome the opportunity for this sort of credible one-stop information shopping.

struggles, the site is helmed by a 20-year editorial veteran along with
journalists with a specialty in health care and reproductive health, and it is
vetted by accredited Reproductive Endocrinologists. Among the key content areas
are diagnosis, treatment, tests and medications, emotional issues and
"family building options," along with other relevant features like
financial planning and a spotlight on noteworthy physicians.
